sitting through a 'strategy and vision' meeting

i'm writing this blog post while sitting through a strategy and vision meeting thats set to go on for an hour and a half. i mean it doesn't interest me one bit coz.....well u know why rite?  neway so i'm not even bothering to try and listen to what these guys are rambling on about.  i think i've heard the word 'quality' (or 'qualidy' as the american's say) about 100 times in the last 10 minutes.  and i just realized that they have a qualidy council..damn...talk a monumental waste of money and time.  neway so i'm just looking through the slides they've put up, and i've got one suggestion for them, 'please don't try to sound smart, coz frankly talking about a 'framework', 'strategy', 'change' repeatedly just makes you all sound like you have a limited vocabulary.  talk to the people tell them, 'please continue doing what u'r doing, however what we'd like to change is that....blah blah blah.'

simple rite?  what am i doing as a bottom feeder, i should be in higher management. sry momentary thoughts of the impossible..

btw i think the speaker changed now

i love the way any services centered firms talk about talent, talent planning, talent retention, talent skill, talent torture techniques (oops that's not something everyone knows). they make it seem that they are so dependent on this 'talent'. but then why do they treat the talent like shit? so talent retention seems to be a strategy (snickering rite now).

speaker change

9 priorities??  i guess they couldn't narrow it down any further..

okay seems like i'm recording minutes for this meeting. neway so...

oh more interesting than what they are saying in the meeting are what people are doing around me
  • there are couple of people staring into the computer screen pretending to work (psst we can all see your facebook page open)
  • there are people who are looking at the overhead projection with such concentration that i'm shocked that the screen hasn't caught fire yet.
  • someone's playing farmville on facebook. (that bored?)
and these are just the people sitting in my immediate vicinity. what could the others be doing.  so why are they having this meeting?  who knows?

damn.. 3 days after i started this blog post i'm sitting and attending a goal setting training...my goal is to leave in 45 days, well i guess i will meet expectations this time around :-)
